Camping pictures, as promised

So here are some pictures from my family camping trip back in August. Drake, Tristan and I went camping with my parents, my sister Melissa and her baby Katelyn, and my Aunts Jolene and Charlotte. We went to Minnetonka cave, picked huckleberries, and just had a good time together as family.
There is a stream that runs through the campground and the boys had a lot of fun playing in it.

ISU Homecoming Parade

On Saturday, October 18, ISU had it's homecoming parade. We love parades, but this one was special because it was Drake's first time in a parade. We woke up and headed down to the starting area. I had Shane drop Drake and I off so we could find the float and then I would meet Shane and Tristan where we were going to watch the parade. The swim team had a truck and a boat donated for them to use in the parade. At first Drake was a little unsure of what was going to happen, but then he was excited. He loved being in the parade, and sat in the front of the boat.
He worked both sides of the street with his wave. All he could talk about after the parade was how he wanted to be in another one.
Tristan and Drake got lots of candy, and had lots of fun. We got to sit by my parents, and my brother's family so that was fun too.

Quick update

Ok here is a quick update for what is happening in our lives.
Drake is doing well in school. He is getting his work done on time, he is working hard and his teacher really likes having him in class. He is such a good boy, always caring and helpful to others. Drake is also doing well on swim team. He is learning a lot and having fun. On October 11 the team had their intersquad meet and Drake swam in 3 races. He swam a 25 yard backstroke, a 25 freestyle, and a 50 freestyle. He is not very fast, and had some trouble emotionally dealing with not coming in first, but we supported him and tried to make sure that he has fun. His coach is really supportive and helpful. He said he doesn't want to do any more meets, and I told him that I had no problem with that. I just want him to have fun and do the best that he can. He is going to be in the ISU Homecoming parade this weekend (Oct. 18) with the Swim Team. I am really excited for him. It is fun to be part of a parade. I am glad that it is going to be warm (it snowed 6 inches last Saturday). I will bring my camera (and make sure the batteries are charged) and take lots of pictures of him so I can post them here.
Shane loves his new job. He really feels like he is helping other people and that is what he wants to do. He has bad days, don't we all, but for the most part he enjoys it.
Tristan is just being a 2 year old. He loves Mickey Mouse right now and I think we have watched all our movies with Mickey in them about 100 times each. He is talking a lot and it is a lot easier to understand him. He is growing up so much. He sings songs with us when we sing the primary songs, he loves to have me help him read and follow the songs in Sacrament Meeting. I am so excited about his growth. He loves to read his books with me. He follows along and reads the words with me. He loves to pray, always wants to be the one to pray. I love being a mom!
I got a paper route at the end of September. That has been interesting. The papers have to be out by 6:30 in the morning, and my route is about 5 miles round trip, so I drive it. It usually isn't bad, but I have never been a morning person so the early hours are hard. One of the good things is that I am up and able to make good breakfasts for Shane and Drake before they leave for the day. I read the Twilight book series recently and absolutely loved them, so if you are unfortunate to have to talk to me you will probably have to listen to my feelings about the books, and the movie.
We are getting ready for Halloween here too. Drake wants to be a ninja, and Tristan is going to be Woody from Toy Story. We are going to buy Drake's costume, and my mom is helping us with Tristan's costume. She made him the yellow shirt, and I need to buy some fabric for the vest. We bought a cowboy hat at Goodwill, so we are ready. Our ward is doing Trunk or Treat on the 25, as well as a soup dinner, and then the city of Chubbuck is doing their Trunk or Treat at the mall on Halloween.
We are excited about another upcoming event. Talk show host Glenn Beck is coming to Pocatello for a book signing in November. We are so excited to meet him, even if it is just to have him sign one of his books.
We hope everyone is doing well, and we will post more as more happens.
