Halloween Fun

These are my Mom & Dad's. the trick-or-treater pumpkin weighed 48 pounds and the turkey weighed 91.4 pounds.

9/12 Tea Party

On September 12 the boys and I attended the 9/12 Tea Party in Pocatello. We made signs, walked to the federal building, and listened to the speakers. It was a great experience, to be part of a big movement and to get my kids involved.

Lana's Blessing

We blessed Lana in October. She wore the blessing dress that my mom made for me when I was blessed.

She looked so beautiful.
Shane's Aunt, Uncle, Grandma, sister, and niece and nephews came and my Aunt, cousin and brothers and sisters and their kids. It was so nice to have all of the support.
We had a brunch at my parents house before church (since we had 1pm church and that puts people getting home late if we had a dinner afterwords), and it was nice to enjoy each others company.
Shane gave Lana a beautiful blessing. I am so blessed to have a husband who honors his priesthood and is worthy to give our children blessings.

Lana Arrives!

September 23 was a big day for our family. It is the day that we welcomed another member to our family.
It started out with Tristan being sick and throwing up in our bed (which he was sleeping in because he had wet his own bed). When I woke up to take care of him I realized that my water had broken, and we called my parents to have them watch the kids. It was 4 am, so I am glad that my parents were willing to babysit for us at such an early hour. After dropping the kids off at my parents we headed to the hospital, and started a long day. My water was broken, but I was not having any contractions so they started me on Pitocin. Nothing happened for most of the morning so they kept upping the dose of Pit that they were giving me. Shane and I watched a lot of the History Channel that day, they were showing programs about Barbarians. Finally the contractions got painful enough that I asked for the epidural. The epidural only took effect on my right side, even though I was laying on my left side and they tried to adjust the epidural. So my right leg was completely useless. It was really funny because they would ask me to move and I couldn't do anything with my right leg, it would just flop around.
Lana made her entry into the world at 12:49 pm.

She is beatiful with dark brown hair and she had big cheeks. She was 8 lbs. 10 oz. and 20 1/2 inches long. She was 12 days early, but I was glad that she came when she did otherwise she could have been 10 pounds.
It took us a long time to leave the delivery room because my right leg was so numb, but we still had visitors. My brother and his family came.
Their baby is about 6 weeks older than Lana. They will have lots of fun together.
Drake and Tristan were so excited to come a see their new sister. Drake loves to hold her and give her hugs and kisses. He wants to hold her all of the time. Tristan loves to give her kisses, and help take care of her. They are both wonderful big brothers.

She is a wonderful baby. She eats well and sleeps about 3-4 hours at a time at night. It is not a lot of sleep, but I am grateful for what I get. At her 2 week appointment she was 9 lbs 9 oz, and 20 3/4 in. She didn't grow very much but gained almost a pound.

We love our new addition and are so glad that she is here.

Drake's Baptism

Over Labor Day weekend we had a big event, Drake was baptized. It was a wonderful event, and I am so proud of him making the decision to be baptized. Shane baptized, and confirmed him. Our ward gave him a great present of a white towel and a poem about baptism. It was very beautiful. We had a wonderful time visiting with the people who attended (Aunt Verna and Uncle Bill, Aunts Jolene, Charlotte, and Louise, and Uncle DeWayne, Jeremy, Julie, Austin, and Jayden, Melissa, Jake, and Katelyn, Grandpa and Grandma Tucker, Noni and Bompi. I hope I didn't forget anyone). We had a nice salad lunch after the baptism and really enjoyed all the different types of salad that were brought.
Tristan was cute and loved watching Drake be baptized. He even said that he wanted to be baptized too. My kids are so special, and I love them so very much.

Updates

So it has been a really long time since I last updated our blog. There hasn't been much going on, but here is a little synopsis. Shane is still working, all the time. Drake is back in school. Third grade is hard, but we are getting through. Swim team has started up again for the short course season (fall, winter, spring). Drake is still really enjoying it and we are looking forward to swimming in a meet in Idaho Falls. Drake is also enjoying Cub Scouts. He loves to learn and really wants to earn as many merit badges (or whatever they are called in cub scouts) as he can.
Tristan is still just running around playing. He just completed pre-school level swimming lessons for the 4th time and enjoys every minute of it. He is signed up to take it again, and we learned last night that he will still have to take pre-school level when he is 4. By the time he is 5 he will probably be able to teach the class.
I am just busy being mom and fulfilling my Relief Society calling. There is a lot involved in both so I am kept really busy.
In September we did attend the Medieval fair at the library again. The boys had a lot of fun dressing up, playing some musical instruments, eating good food, coloring pictures, and I learned a dance. There was not as much there as last year, but it was still a lot of fun to do.

Weidemans on TV

So for National Olympic Day the Pocatello Swim team was on the local news. Our Coach, Dustin, was given a baton for the Chicago Olympic 2016 bid. He was interviewed for the news and in the background you can see Clarissa and Tristan on his left (the right of the screen). We think that it is Drake who pops his head up at the end of the interview on Dustin's right (the left side of the screen).

It's a Girl!

So I am very excited to announce that we are having a baby girl around October 5. We went to the ultrasound appointment on Wednesday May 13 and everything is going well. All of her important organs are forming well; 4 heart chambers, stomach, kidneys, the umbilical cord has all the right veins, her spine looks good, and so does her brain development.
I am so excited to be getting a baby girl. We laugh and wonder how do you raise a girl? Still we are excited.

Grad School

Well we found out a few weeks ago, and I am just getting around to letting everyone know (I know, just call me a slacker), that Shane did not get into Grad School this year. When we called to see where he was on the list they said that he is the first alternate. But that doesn't mean anything when all of the people accepted have committed to coming. We are crossing our fingers that someone changes their mind, or gets a better offer from another school over the summer but baring that miracle we are just going on with our lives.

Some Catching Up to Do

So we have some catching up to do.
First off, Yes we are expecting a new addition to our family around October 5. Drake was right on time and Tristan was early so I am crossing my fingers for a September delivery. The first trimester was pretty bad with morning sickness, but we have made it through and are doing well now. Shane and the boys are glad that I can finally cook dinner again without having to run to the bathroom, they were getting tired of Pizza Hut.
Drake is doing well in school and on the swim team. He had a swim meet on April 4 and did well. His relay team got 3rd, and over all he got 8th in his other races. He could have done a lot better if his goggles would have stayed on and not filled up with water. He is not Micheal Phelps, but he does swim pretty well even when he can't see. Here are some pictures of his swim meet.


The first picture he is getting ready for a heat (that is a race). The second he is the swimmer on top. It is during his backstroke heat. The last picture is him waiting on the starting block before the race begins.
Shane is waiting to hear from the Counseling school as to whether he is accepted or not. We are praying and crossing our fingers. He is doing well at his job and advancing well in the company.
Tristan is enjoying life as a 3 year old. He took swimming lessons for 2 months and had so much fun. He loves to swim and really enjoys being in the water. We are taking a break since he can not take any other swimming classes until he is older. Hopefully he will be able to take more lessons this summer and get to be a great swimmer like his big brother.

Not much new

So I haven't posted in a long time, but there isn't much new to tell. Drake is back in school and doing ok. Tristan is growing and playing. Shane is working, and working on getting into Graduate School. He passed the Miller's Analogies Test (MAT) with a good enough score to get in, now we just have to turn in all of the other material and wait. I am just delivering newspapers and being mom.
Tristan did just start taking swimming lessons. He loves to swim so we thought it was important for him to learn how. Drake is still doing swim team and loving it.
Our lives are pretty normal for now, but we will let you know when we have anything exciting happen.

Christmas

Christmas was fun for our family this year. We got to go to Shane's parents house. There was lots of snow (it had been snowing for the whole week before and then after Christmas). We drove over on Christmas eve. The weather was fine until we hit Sandhollow, and then it started snowing and just got worse til we arrived at their house. The snow was a lot of fun for the kids. We had a nice Christmas, getting some of the things we wanted, and some we didn't know we wanted. We also had fun with Shane's family. They boys enjoyed playing with their cousins and playing in the snow.

We tried to go sledding but the car got stuck in the snow.


So we decided to stay and just play in the snow at Nani and Bompi's house.
On the way home, I-86 was closed so we stopped at my Grandparents house and had a small dinner. We also got our presents from them. It was nice to see them for a little bit before the roads opened and we were able to go home.
